PREAMBLE

Experiential Learning and Nation-Building

The Committee aligns with the vision and mission of the College by promoting experiential learning, civic responsibility, environmental consciousness, leadership development, and community participation. Through outreach programmes and extension activities, it supports NSS objectives, University of Mumbai guidelines, UGC expectations, and NAAC quality enhancement.

FUNCTIONS

Functions of the Committee

The CWC plans, conducts, documents, and reports community work activities, awareness campaigns, extension initiatives, and social welfare programmes.

Annual Action Plan

Prepare and implement the Annual Community Work Action Plan.

Awareness Campaigns

Organise extension activities, awareness campaigns, and outreach programmes.

Special Camps

Conduct Special Camps and regular community work activities.

Environmental Initiatives

Undertake environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Health & Wellness

Organise health, hygiene, blood donation, and wellness programmes.

Civic Responsibility

Promote voter awareness, constitutional values, and civic responsibility.

External Coordination

Coordinate with NGOs, government agencies, and community organisations.

Documentation

Maintain records, reports, photographs, attendance, and documentation of activities.

Reporting

Submit periodic reports to the Principal and IQAC for review and quality documentation.

Operational Guidelines

These guidelines ensure discipline, safety, documentation, ethical conduct, and responsible community interaction during all CWC activities.

Voluntary Participation

Participation shall be voluntary and open to eligible students as per University and NSS guidelines.

Volunteers shall maintain discipline, punctuality, and ethical conduct during all activities.

Safety Compliance

Students shall comply with safety instructions during field visits, camps, and outreach programmes.

Records

Attendance and participation records shall be maintained for all activities.

Local Needs

Activities shall be planned to address local community needs and national priorities.

Approved Collaboration

Collaboration with external agencies shall be undertaken with prior approval from the Principal.

Documentation

All activities shall be documented and reported as per institutional requirements.

Cultural Respect

Students shall respect cultural diversity, community values, and professional ethics.

Community work is implemented through coordinated support from the Principal, Coordinator, faculty members, students, community partners, NGOs, and alumni.

Principal

  • Provide strategic direction and administrative support.
  • Approve annual plans, budgets, and major initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaborations with external agencies.

Committee Coordinator

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities.
  • Maintain records, reports, and documentation.
  • Liaise with University authorities and organisations.
  • Ensure NSS and institutional guideline compliance.

Faculty Members

  • Assist in planning and execution.
  • Mentor and guide student volunteers.

Students

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL

Fair Resolution of Concerns

Any grievance related to Community Work activities shall be reported to the Committee Coordinator. Unresolved matters shall be referred to the Principal and addressed through the institutional Grievance Redressal Mechanism in accordance with College policies.
